The purpose of the study was to analyze whether such occupational factors as noise, darkness (sensory deprivation), and microwave radiation affect the neuro-psychic state of workers. The authors developed a screening technique to characterize general psychic adaptation by rating individual levels of asthenia, anxiety, non-psychotic depression, hysteric reacting, obsessional-phobic disorders, and vegetative dysfunctions. Microwave exposures most often led to development of depressive and astheno-depressive disorders. Possible mechanisms of the specificity of the types of psychic disorders for the effects of the studied occupational factors were discussed. [BENER 12488]
