The authors determined the prevalence of cardiac and circulatory disturbances among employees of AM radio broadcasting stations. The authors found that long-term exposure to 0.7-1.5 MHz RF radiation does not significantly increase the risk for ischemic heart disease. Slight disturbances in the neurovegetative regulation of cardiac function, with decreases in the amplitude (desynchronization) of diurnal rhythms of arterial blood pressure and heart rate, are possible in persons exposed to RF fields exceeding 100-150 V/m (corresponding to daily exposures of 100 V-hr/m).
