EMF and Office Workers: Exposures and Perceptions

Magnetic fields were measured in 10 office areas located on a university campus and office workers were interviewed. Information was obtained on their understanding of the fundamental characteristics of ELF EMFs and the general effects of ELF EMFs. The magnetic fields measured in this study were generally comparable to those measured previously in other office environments. The results of the interviews suggest that workers hold misconceptions about some aspects of ELF EMFs, particularly health effects.
