The authors examined the effect of increases in ambient geomagnetic activity on the incidence and intensity of vestibular experiences in humans. Volunteers underwent partial sensory deprivation: each subject sat in a comfortable arm chair housed in a commercial acoustic chamber. Goggles were placed over the eyes, and a modified motorcycle helmet was placed over the subject's head. Of all the subjects' experiences, only vestibular experiences were significantly associated with geomagnetic activity. The data indicate that vestibular experiences are associated with geomagnetic activity. [BENER 13342]
