Wednesday, July 2, 1997. A major new study has found no evidence that electromagnetic fields from power lines can increase a child's risk of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The study, headed by researchers at the National Cancer Institute in conjunction with hospitals and investigators of the Children's Cancer Group, has been described as one of the most comprehensive studies yet performed on the subject of EMFs and childhood leukemia. The report is published in the July 3, 1997 issue of The New England Journal of Medicine.
