Summary

The hypothesis that a carcinogenic effect of exposure to EMF could be a result of alterations in melatonin levels is discussed. A Canadian group measured melatonin levels after exposure of rats to 10-G fields. And another group examined magnetic field exposure effects on melatonin patterns in male and female Siberian hamsters. A Spanish group exposed three generations of mice to 150-mG, 50-Hz magnetic fields and reported on the effects on plasma melatonin concentrations. [one page, 5 references].
