Summary

EMF exposure has been shown to aid in bone healing. A review of the use of EMF for fracture healing, including comparison of different clinical techniques, and future directions in this field is presented and summarized. A review of the effects of pulsed EMFs on the in-vitro responses of rat osteoclast cells to cellular, hormonal, and ionic signals is summarized. A study was done to examine the effects on the growth and metabolic activation of selected mammalian cells of a therapeutic magnetic field used to promote bone healing.
