Summary

A paper is reviewed that looks at one possible mechanism for EMF effects, the ability of ELF EMFs to prolong the half-life of reactive free radicals that participate in many chemical reactions. Another study examined the ability of magnetic fields to induce micronuclei in human amniotic fluid cells. A paper is discussed which was published as a follow-up to a proposed model that predicts peak responses of biological systems at frequency and intensity combinations matching hydrogen ion resonance. This study emphasizes the importance of specific exposure conditions and the investigator's conclusions are discussed. [two pages, 4 references].
