Summary

A major question that remains to be answered is, if in fact EMFs are carcinogenic, then how does the very low energy of EMFs get amplified enough to have a biological effect? Two reports are summarized which discuss magnetically sensitive cellular organelles. Another report is summarized which presents a theoretical evaluation of EMF effects on electron spin orientations. Thermal effects were also discussed as theoretical mechanisms of action as well as effects on voltage-gated ion channel function in two reports. Three possible molecular mechanisms by which EMF and hypogravity may induce biological effects were proposed and discussed by another report. Interactions between weak electromagnetic fields and cell membranes was studied and reported on by a group in the UK. This article concludes with a summary of work by a researcher on sites of molecular biological interactions by ELF EMF. [four pages, 8 references].
