OCCUPATIONAL ALLERGIC CONTACT DERMATITIS CAUSED BY YLANG-YLANG OIL

A case report on a cosmetic allergy caused by ylang-ylang-oil was presented. A 37 year old woman who job required repackaging of cosmetics into smaller containers developed hand dermatitis after 1 month on the job. Patch testing was done with 21 raw materials to which the patient had been exposed. Moderately strong positive reactions were observed for to materials which contained ylang-ylang-oil. The authors conclude that the patient had an occupational allergic dermatitis caused by ylang-ylang-oil.
