A case of occupational asthma resulting from exposure to pea flour was reported. The patient was a 19 year old flour mill worker who presented with a 3 month history of paroxysmal breathlessness with wheezing, chest tightness, and cough. The patient reported progression of symptoms throughout the work week with partial recovery on weekends and full recovery after 4 days off from work. Symptoms were relieved by treatment with salbutamol, beclomethasone, and theophylline. A job change was recommended and the patient was asymptomatic 3 months after working at a new job.
