Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
Through task orders under a CDC-wide contract, “Health Marketing, Training, and Consultation Services,” IVI developed training materials for use by educators and policy stakeholders. These materials were developed after garnering input from nationally recognized subject matter experts and will benefit the communities they serve.
Fire Safety Education and Prevention Program Development
For the CDC National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, IVI developed, pilot tested, and refined a comprehensive, evidence-based fire safety toolkit and curriculum for public fire safety educators. Tasks include convening an expert panel meeting, conducting concept testing with stakeholders, conducting dissemination research, identifying external resources to link to, and formatting materials for posting to a website and for print publication.
IVI's pilot testing activity for the fire safety trailer curriculum was featured in two news stories:
- Curriculum test piloted in Washington Township
- Thomas Jefferson Elementary students in Washington Township take part in fire safety program that will serve as national model
Assessment of Gaps in Booster Seat Policy
For the CDC National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, IVI's team analyzed and updated an existing draft booster seat policy-planning guide for use by stakeholders to strengthen their state's child booster seat policy. IVI professionals facilitated and convened a two-day expert meeting of key CDC stakeholders and partners, and synthesized the meeting outcomes in a follow-up report that included a final revised booster seat policy-planning guide and implementation plan.
